Uniquely designed for the World Chess Championship, and adopted by the Mozart of chess – Magnus Carlsen, this Official FIDE chess set of pieces design has all the hallmarks of excellence of design one expects in a luxury set. With a contemporary atmosphere, the FIDE ebonised design was designed in line with chess playing aesthetics, and with white and black corresponding base felts. This is the official World Chess Championship set approved by FIDE. Each set is beautifully presentation boxed with individual pieces hand packed and secured inside the box. We propose with this nice set of pieces a luxury and beautiful chessboard in maple burr inspired by the Netflix Serie Queens' Gambit.  Size of the king 9,5 cm, pieces are weigthed and felted, chessboard 54 cm and square 5,5 cm.

While today, Reginald Pryce Michell (1873-1938) is largely forgotten, he was a quiet giant of his time. A leading British master, he beat all nationally leading players from Blackburne and Atkins to Golombek, as well as internationally renowned players such as Bogoljubow, Reti and Sultan Khan, and drew former, reigning, and future world champions such as Capablanca, Alekhine, Euwe, and Botwinnik.
His best individual result was in Margate 1923, where he shared second place with Alekhine and Bogoljubow. As a team player, Michell was part of the team that won bronze in the 1927 Chess Olympiad.
In 1947, Julius Du Mont, then editor of British Chess Magazine, wrote a biography on Michell with a selection of his games. The annotations to the original game selection have been considerably expanded, and another thirty thoroughly annotated games have been added by Carsten Hansen. 313 pages

Carrom is a similar game to billard. Playing this game you need technical and strategical skills. At the beginning all playing pieces are put in the middle of the board in a certain position. Each player tries to sink his playing pieces in one of the holes. Therefore you snap the striker from the baseline using your finger. Your turn continues as long as you keep sinking your playing pieces. Winner is the one, who holes all playing pieces of his own colour first.
