Goky Shumy is one of the most famous collections of go problems, containing 520 classic tesuji problems compiled and published by Hayashi Genbi in 1812. Its contents are divided into the categories of making life, capturing, ko, capturing races, connecting, oi-otoshi, cutting, and ladders.This English edition of Goky Shumy is the first of its kind. Until now, Western go players have had to rely on Asian editions of the book to peruse its contents. Besides adding English annotations for problemsolutions, this edition fixes dozens of mistakes in the source material and grades problems by their difficulty. The editor Antti Törmänen is himself a professional player with the Japan Go Federation.The problems in this book come from a wide range of difficulties, from 9-kyu all the way to professional level. The Russian Boris Spassky was the perfect gentleman. He was a chess genius who became World Champion in 1969. But he was also gracious in defeat after he lost his title to the American Bobby Fischer in 1972 in the Match of the Century. This biography includes fifty of Spassky’s best games, annotated by former Russian champion Alexey Bezgodov, and a biographical sketch of a few dozen pages, written by Dmitry Aleynikov, the Director of the Chess Museum in Moscow. Spassky was born in St. Petersburg in 1937; he moved to France in 1976 and returned to Russia in 2010. He lost his first match for the ultimate title against Tigran Petrosian but won in his second attempt in 1969. With his all-round style, fighting spirit and psychological insights, he could beat anybody anytime and, for example, won at least two games versus six other World Champions: Smyslov, Tal, Petrosian, Fischer, Karpov and Kasparov 279 pages

Chess set inspired by the models in vogue during the 50's and 60's in the Eastern countries. The two-coloured pieces bring a special touch, but the set remains quite classical with the ultra sober design of the pieces. The set of pieces is made of acacia wood and boxwood, they are all well weighted for an excellent grip and benefit from a felt underneath for a perfect glide and a comfort of use when moving the pieces. The king measures 9.5 cm and the rook 5.5 cm, the ideal sizes for the chess board we have used it on. The board is made of Padouk wood, it measures 53 cm and each square is 5.5 cm.
