To round off the Silman trilogy, a book with a different and original approach - we wouldn't dare say new, because a certain Max Euwe had already done something in the same style a long time ago: showing not what to do, but what not to do - and to this end featuring amateur players in search of progress (you and me, in short). But Silman has gone further than his prestigious predecessor, noting and using the moves and reasoning of his own students (from 1000 to 2100 Elo), which gives his book an irresistible flavour of authenticity.
